About Army Body Fat Calculator
The US military uses specific formulas to calculate body fat percentage based on circumference measurements. This calculator follows the official US Army regulations for body fat measurement, which is used to determine if service members meet the body composition standards.
How to Measure for the Army Body Fat Test
To get accurate results:
- Neck: Measure just below the larynx (Adam's apple) with the tape sloping slightly downward to the front
- Waist: For men, measure at the navel level. For women, measure at the narrowest point of the abdomen
- Hips (women only): Measure at the widest point of the hips
- All measurements should be taken with a non-stretchable tape measure
- Measure to the nearest 0.1 inch
