About Bra Size Calculator
The Bra Size Calculator helps you determine your accurate bra size based on your bust and band measurements. Wearing the correct bra size is essential for comfort, support, and overall breast health. This calculator supports multiple international sizing systems to help you find your perfect fit.
How Bra Sizes Are Calculated
Bra sizes consist of two components: the band size and the cup size. Here's how they're determined:
- Band Size: This is typically your underbust measurement rounded to the nearest even number (in US/UK sizing). For EU sizes, it's usually your exact underbust measurement in centimeters.
- Cup Size: Calculated by subtracting your band size from your bust measurement. Each inch (or 2.54 cm) of difference represents a cup size (A, B, C, etc.).
Understanding the Results
The calculator provides several key pieces of information:
- Your Size in Different Systems: Shows your calculated size in US, UK, EU, and French sizing standards.
- Band Size: The numerical part of your bra size (e.g., 34 in 34B).
- Cup Size: The letter part of your bra size, representing the difference between bust and band measurements.
- International Comparison: A table showing equivalent sizes across different countries' sizing systems.
Measurement Tips
For the most accurate results:
- Measure yourself while wearing a non-padded bra or no bra at all.
- Keep the measuring tape parallel to the floor and snug but not tight.
- Take measurements at the end of an exhale for the most accurate band size.
- Measure your bust at the fullest part, typically at nipple level.
- If you're between sizes, try both to see which feels more comfortable.
International Sizing Differences
Different countries use different bra sizing systems:
- US & UK: Similar band sizing but may differ in cup progression, especially for larger sizes.
- EU: Uses centimeters for band size and has a different cup letter sequence.
- France: Similar to EU but sometimes uses different cup labeling.
- Australia: Generally follows UK sizing.
- Italy: Uses a unique cup size progression.
When to Remeasure
Your bra size can change due to various factors. Consider remeasuring if:
- You've gained or lost weight
- You're pregnant or breastfeeding
- You've had breast surgery
- Your current bras feel uncomfortable
- It's been more than a year since your last measurement
