About Child Height Prediction

A child's adult height can be estimated using the heights of the parents and the child's gender. While genetics play a major role in determining height, environmental factors such as nutrition and health can also influence growth.

How Height Is Predicted

This calculator uses the mid-parental height formula, which is a common method used by pediatricians to estimate a child's adult height. The formula differs slightly based on the child's gender:

For boys: (Mother's height + Father's height + 5 inches) / 2

For girls: (Mother's height + Father's height - 5 inches) / 2

The result is then adjusted by ±4 inches to provide a range of potential adult heights.
