About Gravel Calculator

How Gravel Calculations Work
The calculator first determines the area of your project based on the shape you select:
- Rectangular Area: Length × Width
- Circular Area: π × Radius²
- Triangular Area: (Base × Height) / 2
It then calculates the volume by multiplying the area by the depth. The volume is converted between different units (cubic meters, cubic yards, etc.) as needed.
Weight Calculations
The weight of gravel is calculated by multiplying the volume by the density of the selected gravel type. Common gravel densities:
- Standard Gravel (0.2-2"): 1.4 tons/m³ (1400 kg/m³)
- Medium Gravel (0.5-1.5"): 1.6 tons/m³ (1600 kg/m³)
- Large Gravel (0.75-1.1"): 1.7 tons/m³ (1700 kg/m³)
- Pea Gravel: 1.5 tons/m³ (1500 kg/m³)
- Crushed Stone: 1.2 tons/m³ (1200 kg/m³)
