About Navy Body Fat Calculator
The Navy Body Fat Calculator uses the U.S. Navy formula to estimate body fat percentage based on body measurements. This method is relatively accurate and straightforward, requiring only a tape measure to assess fitness levels. For men, it uses height, waist, and neck measurements; for women, it includes hip measurements as well.
How to Measure Your Body
To get accurate measurements:
- Height: Stand straight without shoes and measure from floor to head top.
- Waist: Measure at the navel (men) or the smallest part of the waist (women).
- Neck: Measure below the larynx, keeping the tape level.
- Hip (women): Measure at the widest part of the hips.
Use a flexible tape measure, keep it snug but not tight, and measure after exhaling.
