About the Ovulation Calculator

The ovulation calculator estimates your most fertile days based on your menstrual cycle information. Knowing your fertile window can help you plan or prevent pregnancy by identifying the days when you're most likely to conceive.

How Ovulation Works

Ovulation is when a mature egg is released from the ovary, ready to be fertilized. This typically occurs about 14 days before your next period starts. The egg survives for 12-24 hours after ovulation, while sperm can live for 3-5 days in the female reproductive tract. This creates a "fertile window" of about 5-6 days each cycle.

How to Calculate Your Fertile Days

To estimate your fertile window:

  1. Track your menstrual cycle length (from day 1 of your period to day 1 of your next period)
  2. Subtract the length of your luteal phase (typically 14 days) from your cycle length to estimate ovulation day
  3. Your fertile window is the 5 days before ovulation and the day of ovulation itself
