About Pregnancy Conception Calculator
The Pregnancy Conception Calculator estimates key dates in your pregnancy based on your last menstrual period (LMP), conception date, or ultrasound measurements. It helps you track your pregnancy timeline and important milestones.
How Pregnancy Dating Works
Pregnancy is typically calculated from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP), even though conception usually occurs about two weeks later. This is because most women know when their last period started, but not exactly when they ovulated.
Key Pregnancy Dates
- Conception Date: Typically occurs 11-21 days after the first day of your LMP
- Due Date: Calculated as 40 weeks (280 days) from the first day of your LMP
- Trimesters: Pregnancy is divided into three trimesters, each about 13 weeks long
- Important Tests: Various prenatal tests are recommended at specific times during pregnancy
Accuracy of Due Dates
Only about 5% of women deliver on their exact due date. Most babies are born within two weeks before or after the estimated due date. First-time mothers often deliver after their due date, while women who've had children before often deliver earlier.
